Hello all,
I got a new phone and now want to connect it to my wifi at home, issue is i setup the wifi once and at the time connected both my laptops to it. since then i have never needed to connect another device.
I now do not have a clue as to what password i used.
How do i go about getting the password back or reseting it and what would be the default password.
Its a netgear router 802 i think
Easiest way of resetting is would be to log into the router, going to wifi and then setting a new password.
If you want to know what the IP is, open command prompt with your laptop (start -> run -> cmd -> enter). Once the black window is open type ipconfig /all and then enter again. You should see your ip address and subnet and default gateway. The default gateway would be your wifi device's IP. You can get this on the wireless connection's status as well
Once you have the IP type it into a web browser's address bar and press enter. It should ask for a username and password. Default for the netgears are username: admin and password: admin (this should also be on one of the stickers on your router. (usually at the bottom.
Once you've logged in, go to the wireless setting on the left. It might be under security as well.
Shout if you need any further help or of this isn't working.
thanks man seems like i changed that as well as admin admin dont work i would need to reset the modem
It could be admin password as well. If you know what the adsl settings is I'd suggest resetting it and setting it up again. It doesn't take that long but yeah I know it's a pain.
lols tried that as well did not work. Issue is that i set it up months ago and cant remember what i did and its been working 100% with no issues. since and i dont want to mess with it
