I purchased the XFX HD5830 However it doesn't want to work with my motherboard( Intel p55wb, Hotel media series Whitesburg)
Any suggestions on how I can get my card to work?
Thanks =)
Ok was actually for my pc, let me explain everything firstly the board is Intel p55wb, Intel media series Whitesburg P55WB... got i5 650, 550w PSU 4GB ram, no OC done... now what happens is with the gigabyte and now xfx cards, i put them in and the screen stays off, i can enter bios but cant see anything.
Now what i think it might be is either the bios or maybe PSU??

Have you tried resetting the bios? I noticed it doesn't have onboard display so that's not an issue but you never know what the settings are like when you first get it. Because you can't see the display you'll need to do it using the jumper on the motherboard.
have currently got a gt 220 in and it works fine (Leadtek) as soon as i go high end card either gigabyte or xfx screen wont turn on.... sent the card back though not in the mood for issues.
It might be the power supply as well. Do you know of anyone who has a bigger one that you can borrow to test?
Maybe the GFX card is set to a particular output (as the BIOS can force it as well). Try a DVI, HDMI and VGA cables if you have to check...
Yeah what power supply do you have? Oh and also what do you mean that you can access the bios, but the screen doesnt work?
