  Hey guys i URGENTLY need some help
  
  i recently ( last week Friday ) upgraded my system with a beautiful little extra- a Gigabyte HD5850 1gb OC edition, which came with Stalker Call of Pripyat (absolutely HORRIBLE game lol)
  i removed the old card some nVidia thingy pretty nice but old.. installed the card and immediately inserted the driver CD when the PC successfully switched on with the new card(well i think its the driver CD it was the only thing which came with the card CD wise) i installed the software and it said update drivers so i was like that obviously necessary so i did i got the new cata..bla bla something something well the latest driver.
  so i was pretty happy to start gaming with my new card first game i ran. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2... started up was pretty smoothish as soon as i joined a game it lagged HARDCORE like froze for few minutes etc...i joined the game had maybe 3 second delay on all my movement?? so quite annoyed i left the game thought well obviously it has to do with the software as i remember reading up somewhere that there was a problem related to ati and mw2 so i thought no biggy...next game. World of warcraft frozen throne...start up was pretty smooth logged in everything was fine started playing the game i was in Dalaran (the most populated city in-game on the server +-500 people running around) it was fine everything was smooth so i upped my graphics to max i mean its WoW the game doesn't use that much graphic processing power?...anyways started to lag got annoyed opened fraps 30-70 fps??? [censored] i had 80 with my older card with 256mb ram. so extremely [censored] off i opened my newly downloaded game Stalker call of pripyat the WORST game i have ever played...imagine kicking a new born baby in the face leaving him in Hillbrow and saying get back to your mother you start the game the interface and your character is horribly bulky and metallic anyways the graphics look like [censored]. start playing the game click new game take maybe 10minutes to load the actual game before i can click the any-key to start the game upon clicking the any-key i wait another 5-9minutes for the game to start...it starts and i run around shoot some retard don't have a clue whats happening my fraps are quite nice until anything happens for exam i enter a cave the game freezes for 2minutes...it continues running i click esc to find out which button is auto-save so i don't have to wait 10minutes EVERY TIME i want to click esc and save the game...
  
  The absolute strangest thing of all just cause 2 runs beautifully at max graphics no matter what i do. battlefield bad company 2 runs quite nicely all round.
  So here the verdict i upgraded my card and everything went shitty? does that even make remotely ANY sense at all??
  sigh i need some help before my computer and the window become close friends.
  
  I am guessing its all software related.

  I urgently need some help :(
  
  Last week Friday I upgraded my system with a beautiful little extra - a Gigabyte HD5850 1Gb OC Edition, which came with Stalker Call of Pripyat (absolutely HORRIBLE game lol).
  
  I removed the old card (some nVidia thingy pretty nice but old), installed the new card and immediately inserted the driver CD when the PC successfully switched on with the new card (well, I think it's the driver CD - it was the only thing which came with the card, CD-wise). I installed the software and it said 'Update Drivers' so I thought that was obviously necessary so I that. I got the latest ATI drivers.
  
  So I was pretty happy to start gaming with my new card. The first game I ran was Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. It started up and was pretty smoothish. As soon as I joined a game it lagged HARDCORE - like it froze for a few minutes, etc... I joined the game and had maybe a 3 second delay on all my movement? So I was quite annoyed.
  
  I left the game (thinking that it obviously has to do with the software, because I remember reading up somewhere that there was a problem related to ATI and MW2). Onto the next game: World of WarCraft. The startup was pretty smooth, I logged in, everything was fine. I started playing the game in Dalaran, the most populated city on the server with around 500 people running around. Everything was smooth so I upped my graphics to maximum - I mean it's WoW, the game doesn't use that much graphic processing power, right? Anyway it started to lag, so I got annoyed. I opened Fraps and saw the framerate was 30-70 fps! What the heck! I had 80 with my older card with 256mb Ram.
  
  So by now I was extremely annoyed. I opened my new game Stalker: Call of Pripyat. It's the WORST game I have ever played... The game interface and your Character is horribly bulky and metallic. Anyways the graphics look really bad. I clicked New Game, and it took maybe 10 minutes to load the actual game before I could click to start playing. After that it took another 5-9 minutes for the game to start... I ran around, shot some stuff, my Fraps stats are quite nice... until anything actually happens. For example, I entered a cave and the game froze for 2 minutes...
  
  The strangest thing of all is that Just Cause 2 runs beautifully at maximum graphics no matter what I do. Battlefield Bad Company 2 runs quite nicely all round.

  OK, as you can see in the quote section above, I took some time to reformat your post for readability, including correcting some spelling and grammar.
  
  To be honest, this all sounds like a driver problem. The recommended course of action when changing your graphics card (and even more so when changing graphics card manufacturers) is to UNINSTALL you graphics drivers FIRST. Then you remove your old graphics card and insert your new one. Then your start windows and INSTALL the new graphics drivers. Make sure you have downloaded the latest drivers for your particular operating system and graphics card combination.
  
  Christo is our resident Everest expert, but I had a quick look at your report file:
  
  I'd say your first problem is that you're running games on a MEDIA CENTER edition of Windows. This is NOT what a MEDIA CENTER edition of Windows is intended for, and therefore, you might get substandard performance when trying to run demanding games on that operating system.
  
  I also see that you have DirectX 9.0c. I was under the impression that Win7 came with DirectX 10 (one of the primary reasons for upgrading to Windows 7 was that newer games would need DirectX 10 support). You might want to look into why you still have DirectX 9.0c (I'm not 100% sure about this issue though - google it).
  
  Your Video Adapter is being detected as an "ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series" card, instead of the specific card that you have (a HD5850). Which sometimes indicates that a generic (and therefore slower) driver has been installed instead of a card-specific (and therefore faster) driver.
  
  I also see that you only have 6gigs free on your primary (only?) harddrive. I recommend that you try to increase that to at least 10gigs, and always keep it above 10gigs free.
  
  I also see that you have a QuadCore Q6600 running at stock speeds - these CPUs are notorious for being able to be overclocked to crazy speeds with stock cooling. If you have a G0 stepping model (that's a G zero), then you should be able to overclock to at least 3 gigahertz without a problem, thereby giving your system a significant boost in speed. Google to find out how to determine the exact stepping of your chip (I think it might be as simple as using CPU-Z).
  
  I noticed that you are running your 19" monitor at 1280 x 1024, which is not the native resolution. Consider increasing your monitor resolution to its maximum.
  
  But back to the primary issue - uninstall your current graphics card drivers. Use a driver removal utility like CCleaner to ensure that all traces of all graphics drivers have been completely removed. Then install the latest version of the driver for your graphics card. And consider playing games on a non-Media Center edition of Windows 7.
  
  That's my advice for the moment being.

  Yeah, quite simply in these easy steps:
  1. Download the latest card specific driver from the ATI website
  2. Download direct X 10 from the microsoft website
  3. uninstall any graphics card drivers you have
  4. Install DirectX 10
  5. Install the GFX card new driver
  6. restart your PC
  7. Get 10GB's space free
  8. Change your resolution to the max amount
  
  There is one more thing I think you should consider.... power. Is your GFX card getting enough juice?

  Thanx Morgue + Enigma few problem here i downloaded the latest drivers the only problem is that 58xx is the same driver all round.
  
  my card and win 7 both use direct x 11 could you please provide me with a download link? i cant seem to find it??
  
  i used Ccleaner i dont see any driver removal panel and i also used Driver sweeper it detects nvidia driver BUT wheneve i click clean or analyse i does nothing.
  
  i reinstalled all the drivers etc
  
  i've freed 10gig.
  
  and finaly my resolution is at maximum.

  oh yeah and i forgot one thing minimum requirements for my card is 500w with 2x6pin connector. i have 550w psu with 3x6pin connectors i check the wattage its perfect the card doesnt require anymore power AS i have such a small hdd

  Morgue there isnt a download on the microsoft website for directx 11 ATI makes use of universal type drivers. if my gpu was under powered it wouldnt switch on.

  Just make sure your DX11 is done and also that you are using the lastest ATI drives (even the 58xx generic ones are fine) and then try again, see what happens.
