Windows Explorer comes with a built-in file copy function, but I've found it to be slow and lacking features (it has none).
So I typically use different file copy tools to enhance my copying experience ;) It's worth noting that these copy tools actually copy FASTER than the built-in function in Windows Explorer. This is because Explorer is programmed to take into consideration other system resources (etc), whereas these standalone tools do away with these considerations and just do the copy at maximum speed. Trust me, they're quite a bit faster.
Now, I've used TotalCopy in the past, but I found it to be buggy (stalled or interrupted copies were not resumed properly, corrupting the copied file/s, and filenames with strange characters in them would crash TotalCopy).
I then moved on to SuperCopier 2. This is a MUCH better tool. It integrates with Windows Explorer much better, and it properly resumes copies. It has no trouble with strange filenames. It also allows you to minimise copies to the system tray and to pause them, which is very handy when you have multiple copies going. I'd recommend SuperCopier2 to anyone who still uses WindowsXP.
Download Super Copier 2 here: (it's small and it's freeware)
SuperCopier 2 v1.9 Beta (461kb)I installed SuperCopier2 on Windows 7 last night, and found to my dismay that it doesn't work.
So, does anyone know of a copy tool (preferably like SuperCopier 2) for Windows 7?
