Hi All,
I seem to be eating thru mobo's, I think this will now be number 6 in 4 years on the same PC.
The specs are:
Intel Core 2 duo 2.4
Asus P5KPL / 1600
2 x corsair 2 gig ram sticks
Nvidia 8800GTX
700W Modular PSU (can't remember the brand but it's a good one and crazy expensive!)
Creative X-fi Extreme
Logitech G15
Razer Habu mouse
Dell 30" monitor
I was simply chatting to a freind on skype when all of a sudden the PC reset itself. Upon booting up again there was no picture on the screen (ie. no signal).
I tried the monitor on my media PC, it's perfect. No problems.
I opened up the PC, took out the GFX card and powered up, no system beeps.
I then did unpluged the 12V CPU power and tried again, no beeps.
I took out the ram as well, no beeps
I took out the CPU, no beeps.
I reset the CMOS and tried everything again, all no system error beeps. Still no picture on anything.
I'm pretty sure but that means the mobo is dead right?
Yep seems like a dead one. Do you have a UPS connected? And is it still under warrantee? Cept for the ugly brown color scheme it's a sweet looking board.
I do have a UPS connected.
Yeah the board wasn't bad at all, I am just so tired of killing so many of them!
Can immagine. Worst part is if you're obsessed with cable management like me...have to do it all over :'(
Yep, I'm a complete neat freak.... LOL
Yep pretty much that mobo is stuffed. Dude the problem is it could be multiple things, what is the heat like in your box. Dying motherboards are hard to diagnose, cause EVERYTHING can affect it.
Sucks though dude.
Dam dam dam.....
I wonder, is it worth upgrading to a faster shipset yet?
I have been looking at it, and it's just silly money tho, no need for me, I haven't even jolled on my PC in a good 4/5 months!
