As the title says, if my dad's PC is off and the USB Printer is on and you go and turn the printer off, his PC will boot up. Pretty random and I have no idea what could be causing it. It's more of an annoyance than a problem, just wondering what the reason for it is and if there is a fix. !wave
You could delve into the BIOS and find the power settings. There should be a setting that says "power on from USB" or something to that effect. Basically it checks the usb ports to see if a device switches on, and then that triggers the pc to switch on.
Well, the only USB feature in the BIOS was already disabled. However, the issue seems to have been resolved by disabling 'PME Event Wake Up'.
Turned the printer on twice while the pc was off and it didn't start booting up, so it seems fixed. !happy
I think thats the setting I was talking about. You also get the setting for keyboards and mouses, you know to switch your pc on by moving the mouse or hitting a key.
Glad to hear its sorted.
