Does it spin up correctly, or does it keep trying to spin up?
If it spins up but isn't detected... might be a corruption of the firmware or the drive controller has suffered a failure of some sort - in which case it's pretty much bricked :(
Oddly enough, it might have been better if the drive didn't actually spin up - at which point you could have tried freezing it.
Sorry, I really have no idea what to suggest in this case. Perhaps you can keep trying to connect it to other machines/interfaces to see if it gets detected. You could try throwing a little 'percussive maintenance' into the mix ( bang it on a desk
