  Yes I think so.
  
  I just lot another HDD..... a 1T down the drain. It just randomly one day blue screened me in windows and from then on won't recognize in the bios on any of my machines or even when I put it into an external enclosure. It powers up and spins up but won't recognise at all.
  
  Any idea's what I could try? At least if it recognised I could throw seatools at it.
  
  It's a Seagate 1T drive. model Baracuda 7200.11

  Wow, that sucks, sorry to hear it Enigma :(
  
  Does it spin up correctly, or does it keep trying to spin up?
  
  If it spins up but isn't detected... might be a corruption of the firmware or the drive controller has suffered a failure of some sort - in which case it's pretty much bricked :(
  
  Oddly enough, it might have been better if the drive didn't actually spin up - at which point you could have tried freezing it.
  
  Sorry, I really have no idea what to suggest in this case. Perhaps you can keep trying to connect it to other machines/interfaces to see if it gets detected. You could try throwing a little 'percussive maintenance' into the mix ( bang it on a desk )

  Ouch that kak bud! I would suggest in future not making a Terrabyte drive your OS though. I normally make sure a 250gb is my OS and then I would make the 1T a secondary.

  Yeah, it does suck big bollocks. But yeah, it's only a secondry drive tho. But it had all my movies on it. thankfully series, pics and important files were on another 1T that also has my OS on.
  
  The HDD spins up perfectly and stays up. It sounds fine. Strangely enough when I plug in in during booting the PC takes like 10 minutes to boot, so I think it's a bricked controller or the like.

  Sounds like it. Have you tried making it a slave and seeing if you can do recovery of the information?

  Yep, it's always been a slave when it died. Tried making it a master too, no better there.
  
  Also tried it in a powered external enclusure and that's no better either.

  Ah sucks. If seatools doesnt recognize it, I'm afraid that not much else can be done. Unless you feel like paying thousands to recover some movies.

  it's a shame you can't get a replacement for jst the board. I've had so many drives i coulda gotten data off if i coulda gotten a replacement board it's jst not funny
