I hear W7 only lasts for 120 days and then poooof.
Even still, 120 days is a good testing time. And a re-install 120 days later isn;t a problem :)
Anyway, I'm actually keen to buy it if it's good (or if there is a cheaper option for upgrading from vista it'd be great)
By all accounts, Win7 is good. And you won't have to re-install in 120 days. You'll either buy it, or... something else ;)
I think there actually is an option to upgrade from Vista.... but upgrading an operating system to another one is really not a good idea.
Which means a format! Yay! =)
I would love to try Win7, but I don't think my poor old PC would cope with the extra strain... =(
Time for an upgrade...
But I digress... Back to topic in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
I would like to try W7.....
OK, i got it sorted. Not sure how yet but I did, I took ot 1 stick of RAM and then swapped around all the ports, did another format and install and since then it's working 100's!
Also, did a "LONG" HDD test with seatools on my old small HDD and it found a bad sector which is now repaired, I wonder if that 1 little sector had all the critical data in that was causing this head-ache!
OK, it's died again.
The 1 old HDD is def on it's way out, it fails all tests on seatools and is making funky noises.
However, the second HDD (the new big one) is unable to boot the PC, everything I try installing windows on it I get the same message quoted in my first post above!
Any recomendations?
