So, I've decided I want to get a netbook. Looking to spend R4000ish. I've done some research online and looked around and at the moment I'm looking at the Acer Aspire One and the Samsung NC10. Both are going for R4000 in shops, although I can get the Samsung for R3760 else where.
Both have 10.2" monitors, 6cell batteries, the same 1.6Ghz processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and Windows XP. They have the same ports, webcams wireless etc.
They are in essence virtually identical. Only major difference I've heard is that the Samsung has a slightly larger keyboard, something I'd appreciate.
Does anyone have either of these or other netbooks that they could recommend. I would like a non-SSD one but whether it has Linux or Windows is irrelevant.

2 Weeks back I bought my girlfriend an Asus Aspire One fro R1999 from Incredible corruption. Very very cool toy! It doesn't have XP (fortunately) but has similar specs, Atom 1.6, 1 Gig ram, only 8 Gig's HDD space (flash based) but has SD card slots to expand if it's really necessary. Otherwise for space just use a small portable, much easier.
I have played around with her toy and I am VERY impressed, it's so simple and straight forward, and everything works like a charm! And did I mention how sexy it is! You have to see it in the flesh, she got the blue one.

OK, i checked out the specs. It's only got a 9.something inch screen, but is still as sexy as can be.
I've seen alot of threads online where folk have out a 2.5" HDD into it instead of the 1.8 SSD. Requires a bit of soldering but isn't impossible.
I have a spare 120gig 2.5 HDD lying around so have ordered a small external casing for it so she can use that now too so space is sorted.
It's only got 512 mg RAM but that should also be dead easy to replace if you want.
And yeah, def a typo, it's Acer not Asus. LOL. I have an Asus router and was getting con fusled.
