  I use both Linux and Windows. Check how the cube looks on XP. It's called Yod'm 3D. It is free and uses very little resources.
  Even works on a laptop or pc with integrated graphics!!

  My friend is pushing me more and more to use Linux, and I'm gradually spending more time in iit, but end up styaing in Windows most of the time because of some Windows only programs I have to run.
  
  And I've twice had it now that when I update Ubuntu it rewrites my Grub, removign Windows from my boot choices...

  What programs do you need from Windows that you dont have on Linux?
  
  Edit: Yod’m 3D isn't FREE anymore. It was taken over by OTAKU Software and now is called DeskSpace with a price tag attached to it.

  Oh and Hawk, sorry wasn't keep up with forums back when you asked what programs i'm looking for.
  
  Can't remember what all it was back then, but my main problem is I'm not particularly fond of change. I /know/ how windows works, I know winamp and office XP (I refuse to get 2007), I have my games that I can play whenever. The process of rebooting whenever I want to play something or do something for which I only have a windows version is irritating.
  
  But the main one of those is that I \know\ windows. If something goes wrong in windows, I can usually fix it. If something goes wrong in Linux I battle to figure it out, so I end up calling my friend, who lives on the other side of res from me, and is starting to get annoyed And please don't come back at me that nothing goes wrong in linux. Perhaps not as often as in windows, but my current installation of Windows has given me less hassle than my Ubuntu, gutsy gibbon, yes I know there's a new one out.
  
  So I have nothing against Linux. It's great, but atm it's not for me.

  Great job on publicising Linux so far Hawk - Mark Shuttleworth should employ you :D
  
  Personally I find the concept behind Linux appealing. If I wasn't already a slave to Microsoft's OS, I'm sure I'd be using Linux full-time. And I think therein lies the key to wider adoption of Linux (Unbuntu). As more tech-savvy young people grow up and need to make choices as to which OS to use, more and more will choose to use the FREE one/s. They won't need to overcome a years-long familiarity with Windows and Microsoft's way of doing things.

  Well I changed my theme right after I took those screenies, sigh! So much choice! Its actually turning into a bit of a problem.
  
  I wouldn't mind working for Canonical, not sure they would hire me though, I don't have any IT related skills.
  
  Well I do agree with you, eventually the uptake of Linux will increase, but I kind of like my little niche. I know many of my friends are trying Ubuntu, after I installed it on a PC at school and they all had a chance to play around with it. In the beginning when I had just started using Ubuntu I was a bit of an evangelist - trying to convert as many as people as possible to the Linux cause but with time I have come to realise that this is the wrong wrong way of doing things.
  
  I decided to take a new approach. Partly based on the principle of "Don't preach, mention." something I picked up at ubuntuforums.org . So I now no longer go out saying: "ZOMG WINBLOWS SUX0RS!!!!, go to LINUX!!" - ok I wasn't exactly like that but I figure that I was pretty militant about it. So now I just use it, mention it here and there, installed it at school and used it, then when people ask "hey thats a cool theme for windows! did you download it?" I just reply its not windows, its Linux - and then mention a little bit and show them a couple of things.
  
  So just by creating a greater awareness of the alternatives, and showing people that Linux is not just hardcore CLI server stuff they are generally quite open to new ideas.
  
  Gosh I ramble way too much!
  I still keep my windows XP around, I need it for my games (sigh).

  Well said i was introduced to LInux by a friend who spent a lot of time teaching me the ways of it all , i dont even have XP anymore as my machine is not used for games as such , but without you hawk haha , who would plug Linux so well !! Nice one ..
