look, i'm not a microsoft fanboy or anything. But i've recently installed Ubunutu, Gutsy Gibbon. In 3 days of use, I have been unable to get Linux to use my two screens at the same time, Firefox has crashed on me twice and my Google Toolbar in Firefox refuses to load my bookmarks.
I mean I enjoy it and everything, I'm running dual boot with windows XP Pro, but I only go into Linux to fiddle around and I'll keep it, just so that I know how to use it if the need ever arises.
Have you asked around at the forums? and have you tried their IRC channel for help? I got a lot lof my initial problems sorted out in a flash :)
Linux can be techy but that has its advantages.
In the 4 months I have used firefox, I havent had one crash but I have had system restarts and firefox then kindly asks me if I want to restore or start a new session.
Very nice and very helpful.
Something Microsoft doesn't really know about.
haven't tried the forums or the IRC, there's a guy on the NAG forums whose helped me sort out some problems, and I think technically the help he gave me with the screens should have worked, but didn't.
Do you have the server etc. for the IRC?
thanks
Mainly getting Linux to be happy using my two screens...
It does not let me put my screen on a resolution greater than 640x480, and as a result, I think, refuses to display anything on the second screen...
Are the proper drivers installed?
Any basic VGA drivers won't handle high res and multiple screens.

I have the restricted Nvida Drivers installed.
sorry reading my previous post it was a bit ambiguos.
My main screen is at 1024x768 res, but I can't set the second screen's res higher than 640x480. I think for this reason it won't let me run the two screens at the same time, cause they are at different resolutions.
