Well since I know Android is a Linux tool I posted this here.

So who know much about making a phone's os into Android. I am really keen on making my HTC HD2 a android phone. The problem is... I am clueless with this stuff. Anyone have some help files or stuff to follow?

Right think im gona hijack this thread. Who is running android os? Are you rooted? Or on stock os? Are you keen to root your device? Do you know the benefits to rooting? Which device do you have?

Ok heres mine HTC Desire running Cyanogen mod RC 1 , rooted my phone and took control over my apps, permissions etc an it now does what i want it to do .

Im going to post links etc to any new downloads ie : new marketplace has been released but is very slowly filtering its way around the workd lets make it a bit quicker for our members.

Quite simple download the apk onto your mobile. Run maybe es file explorer also in the market to locate the file where you have placed it on your mobile install and voila. Latest marketplace.

Any questions i will answer etc or lookup anwers for and find out.im sure alot of members here will be keen to help and learn something new.lets put a bit of fresh air into this dusty forum, get peple involved again.

Siver, follow cAz's advice and use Cyanogen. I have a workmate who did the same and he's chuffed at the end result.

I just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S2 which has Android GingerBread 2.3.3, so I'm going to be getting more involved in this too.

I just need to sort out syncing my contacts first
