I would go for the Radeon, what brand is your PSU? I think the recommended minimum for the 5850 is 550W.

The 5850 is the best bang for buck and will be cooler and quieter.

Alternatively you could look at getting a GTX460 1Gb edition and try to get the Galaxy OC version or the Palit Sonic Platinum Edition. Gives 5850 performance for less moola and uses even less power and runs cooler than the 5850 and GTX470. And 500W should be more than enough for a GTX460.

Moral of the story: . . . . . . . I have a red car.

If you are going to use Rectron then have a look at Gigabyte's GTX460's. I just realised if you go for the OC editions of the mentioned cards (5850 & 470) the GTX460 may not compare as favorable as I thought, but it is still a good buy.

Thanx a mil for the timely response ^^ Well yeah the GTX460 is a cool card but its just doesn't have the kick i need =]...
i want to SLI/Crossfire the cards in the end so im guessing the 5850 sounds quite favorable at the moment? with like every forum i've read they all vouch for the 5850 as its got a lower power consumption quieter etc...
and i heard that its only a 10% improvement? then again not to sure how well it will handle on my Intel board especially for crossfire...you know what i mean? and i heard that the 5850 OC edition can be clocked to nearly the same performance as the 8570 or even more well with the cooler it has on?...sooo im still pretty confused....
My PSU is a power channel or something like that? its a crappy PSU =P
